The NORTH NOTTS NON -TOXIC PRINTMAKING WORKSHOP was opened in summer 2006 by professional Artist Sarah Godfrey.The aim being to create an awareness of non- toxic printmaking techniques through provision of high quality courses and exhibiting opportunities.

The Workshop is situated in the beautiful grounds of Welbeck Abbey in the Dukeries area of Nottinghamshire and is one of 24 others forming the Harley Foundation Artists Studios.

Sarah's Mission at NNNTPW for 2012..........

As a professional Artist/Printmaker I have experimented widely with many different creative techniques, I have a great passion for all arts, and I am constantly learning and discovering more.  Through the workshops I hold at NNNTPW my aim is to pass on some of these discoveries. 

When I make a piece of art work I have no idea what it will end up looking like, I go on a journey and respond to the marks I make, the materials I use, the colours I mix and the shapes I cut......it is exciting and magic.

I view each workshop I teach with an open outlook. I never know quite who will come along, I start by always asking what experience and interests individuals have. It does not matter if you are a professor of art or you have never really drawn before.....you are part of the unique recipe of that workshop, and you will be as much a part of how that workshop evolves as myself or as any other participant. 

Depending on your interests I suggest how the technique of the day can be used by you to produce the imagery you want.....this can change as you/we discover and notice.........and at the end of each workshop every individual will produce  a series of prints that are completely different from anyone elses.......that is the exciting thing, everyone is different......you do not have to use the same size paper as the next person, you do not have use the same colour ink, becasue that is what I decide to make available ......you can choose.....and if you do not know what to choose ....we can just try..............
